Read a local git repo: log, diff, status.

What it does

Local-only. Safer than GitHub when you only need history on disk.

Typical Claude Desktop / Cursor command:

uvx mcp-server-git --repository /path/to/repo

Secrets it wants: none — pass --repository

Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf — any host that can launch a local MCP stdio server.
